As part of her efforts to promote writers, reading, and bookselling, Marion Dodd wrote a series of six articles about New England authors, books, publishers, and booksellers. These appeared in Yankee Magazine monthly, from October 1938 through March 1939. “Along New England Book Trails” began with Maine and ended with Massachusetts. The maps were drawn by Bernard F. Thayer. All of Dodd’s research and correspondence with New England writers, bookstores, and publishers is part of the Marion E. Dodd Papers in the Smith College Archives.
